The UK Network |

Hampshire County Council hosted the first Aalborg UK network event in Winchester on September 12th, 2006. There were 27 representatives comprising UK signatories, local authorities interested in signing the Aalborg Commitments, two universities and national organisations including Local Government Association.
The objectives of the day included raising awareness of the Aalborg Commitments amongst key national bodies, exploring the merits of forming a UK Network and to audit the UK signatories position on Baseline Review preparation and target setting. The event proved to be very successful, with a consensus that a UK network was required. Following further consultation with the delegates it was decided that a virtual network would be set up and in the interim led by Hampshire County Council.
