A Call for a Helping Hand |

This is a call for all Signatories of the Aalborg Commitments to send in to us your Baseline Reviews and Target Setting Reports. We ask for this as we are currently evaluating the support for the Commitments, as well as setting up a basic framework for both Baseline Reviews and Target Setting Reports.
Signatories of the Aalborg Commitments agreed to produce an integrated Aalborg Commitments Baseline Review within 12 months of the date of signature and to enter into a local participatory target setting process that takes into consideration the results of the local Baseline Review. Furthermore, Signatories agreed to set individual local targets within 24 months following the date of signature, to make a regular Monitoring Review of the achievements available for their citizens, and to regularly provide information on targets and progress to the European Sustainable Cities & Towns Campaign, so that progress can be reviewed and lessons learned. The more Reviews and Reports we get, the more we can learn from each other. The more we learn from each other, the more we can strengthen the hope for a sustainable future. Since 2004 more than 600 local governments have signed the Aalborg Commitments, which is an amazing number. From these local governments, the Aalborg Commitments Secretariat has received just over 50 Baseline Reviews and about 10 Target Setting Reports. Thank you very much for these.
