How to sign the Aalborg Charter

Any European local government may sign the Aalborg Charter, whether or not their country is a member of the European Union. The document must be signed by the Mayor or another authorised local government representative.

For information about the Aalborg Charter signing procedure, please download the participant form in your preferred language, complete it and after signing it, post or fax a copy of the document to the Aalborg Commitments Secretariat.

When we receive your data and the signed document, the name of your local government will be added to the list of signatories to the Aalborg Charter.
